Garbage is picked up every Thursday, except if a national holiday falls on Thursday, then it will be picked up on Saturday. Each home/apartment in Rutherford is provided with a Barker Brothers garbage container. This container is to stay with the property if you move. If your property does not have a container, please contact City Hall.
Water bills are mailed on the first of the month and due by the 10th. Bills not being paid by 1 p.m. on the third Monday of each month are subject to disconnection and no notice will be sent. A reconnection fee of $50 and outstanding bill must be paid before service will be restored. Service will only be restored during normal Water Dept. hours which are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
City street crews pick up brush and limbs each Monday.
